Notes

The Allied Arts Department further expanded their program in the 1924-1925 school year. Mrs. R. H. Kendrick continued as director of the department and director of the college glee clubs. The College Girls' Glee Club and the College Men's Glee Club combined in numerous performances as a mixed chorus. Mrs. Kendrick also was the teacher of voice.

Miss Olga Soehnge, teacher of violin and the director of the orchestra, came in October of the school year. She had been in America slightly more than one year, having arrived from Germany. She was a graduate of the Royal Academy of Berlin and concert mistress of the Berlin Symphonic Verein. Miss Margery Goodhew, teacher of piano, resigned for health reasons. Miss Minerva Edwards, an accomplished performer on piano and harp, came to replace her. For the first time, a faculty member was hired to teach music education. Mrs. Cleo C. Bush became director of the Public School Music program. She was an experienced teacher, having had training and supervisory work in Chicago.
