1912-1913
The 1912-1913 school year is a milestone in the history of the SPU college choirs. It was at this time when W. W. Cathey was asked to offically form a seminary choir. From the Cascade: "On the evening of March 10, 1913, the Seattle Seminary and College Chorus made its first appearance. They sang the oratorio 'The Holy City.' It was very well rendered and the large audience applauded vigorously. The soloists were Miss Ruth Sharpe, Mr. Joseph Peterson, and Mr. Eugene Ward. The absence of Mrs. June Cathey on account of illness was greatly regretted. We wish to congratulate Mr. Cathey for his fine work as director of the Chorus." |
