Pop Music Group Project Tasks and Forms
 

STEP ONE
    1. Organize into groups of 5.
    2. Brainstorm and discuss possible topics for the project.
    3. Try to decide on options for a topic and a possible titles.
        -Discuss the resources you might find for the various topics and use that to help determine which are more doable.
        -Discuss possible resources that may be available to help you discover what may be accessible.
        -Discuss the possible format of a presentation and use that to help determine a topic. It may influence your choice of topic.
        -Come to consensus, not dictum.
    5. Record and refine your options and possible presentation modes.

 

STEP TWO (to be turned in by October 18)
    1. Once you have a firm topic, refine topic with a paragraph of what your basic idea is to be.
        Make sure you can identify you topic with a principle statement.
        Limit your topic to do-able and reasonable limits.
            -consider scope of topic, time limits for presentation, etc.
        Discuss your topic with the instructor if you need to.
    2. Find a number of resources for your topic
        A) What are the resources available in the SPU Library? in other libraries?
            - what kinds of resources (books, records, periodicals, etc.)
        B) What are the resources you have personally?
            - what kinds of resources (books, records, periodicals, etc.)
        C) What other resources are you going to use?
            - what kinds of resources (books, records, periodicals, etc.)
        D) Where else are you going to find other resources?
    3. Determine what the format of your project is going to be:
        paper, game, tape/recordings, chart, etc.
    4. Determine how responsibilities will be divided; who will do what and how will things be coordinated.
    5. With a list of names, record the above information on the Pop Music Group Project Form and turn it in by assigned date.

 

STEP THREE
    1. Research, prepare and complete your project and presentation.
    2. Present your project in class as scheduled.
        GROUP PROJECT SUMMARY is due at that time.
    3. Complete the Individual and Peer Evaluation Form.
        Turn this in with your notebook (labeled and in proper order).
