Courses Taught:  Curriculum and Evaluation in FCS Education, Presentation Skills, Career and Technical Education for FCS Education, Individual and Family Development, Foundations and Contemporary Issues

Research Interests: Educational and Developmental Psychology, Teaching and Developing Critical Thinking Skills, Mental Health, Cultural Competence in the Classroom, Health and Wellness Education

Experience:  Professor Brewer is new to Seattle Pacific University beginning fall of 2008.  She has 14 years experience teaching High School at Ingraham High School in Seattle Public Schools.  She received her Masters Degree in Mental Health in 2000 where she completed an internship in clinical counseling - providing services for children and families.

Professional Memberships:  American Association of FCS, Washington Association for Career and Technical Education, Washington Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, National Education Association and Washington Education Association. 

On a lighter note:  I am passionate about teaching and learning!  I believe that excellent teaching is an art form and takes thoughtful reflection and practice.  I am married and have two young daughters.  Together as a family we enjoy the performing arts particularly singing, drama and dance.
