OBP Commitments

The times demand, and our Lord commands, that we make service, commitment, and accountability the top priorities of our personal and corporate lives. Undergirding this mission, in areas of staff employment, planning, operations, and service within Business and Planning, is a commitment to Jesus Christ's call to follow him and to serve one another in love. To meet the demands of this mission, we, the staff members of the Business and Planning area, commit ourselves to the following values:

  • We consider our association with Seattle Pacific to be a calling to be involved in Christian higher education.
  • We recognize that our primary stewardship responsibility is to manage and protect University resources. We are therefore committed to planning, to cost and benefit evaluations, to accountability, and to being informed on all other technical and operational matters pertinent to the scope of responsibilities.
  • We expect professionalism and competence to characterize the performance of each individual at every position. Every staff member is committed to professional associations, and an attitude of learning and personal involvement.
  • We commit ourselves, in those activities that are intended to provide services to students, faculty, staff, to a goal of "customer" satisfaction that takes precedence over personal goals and self-serving procedures. The style and attitude we strive to exhibit is one of helping, serving with gladness, and "going the extra mile" to find a solution to the customer's needs.
  • We strive in all working and personal relationships, to exhibit the "fruits of the Spirit"-- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
