DENISE LEVERTOV AWARD
This year's award goes to THOMAS LYNCH, author
of The Undertaking (Norton, 1997) and winner of the American Book Award. He has also published several collections of poetry as well as a new memoir, Booking Passage: We Irish and Americans (Norton, 2005).

FAN MAYHALL GATES READING
This year's Gates Reader is poet MARIE HOWE, author
of The Good Thief and, most recently, The Kingdom of Ordinary Time (Norton, 2008). Her poems have appears in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and many other journals. She teaches at Sarah Lawrence College.
