The Center for Scholarship and Faculty Development provides SPU undergraduates with assistance in exploring a vocational call to pursue an advanced degree, and it also serves as a clearinghouse for information and application to many national merit-based scholarships.
Undergraduate Scholars Conference Grants:
Funding is available for SPU undergraduate students to attend conferences related to their major or minor coursework. Grant recipients will be reimbursed up to $400 for travel and registration expenses to the conference outlined in their application. Applications, including a faculty sponsor statement of support, are to be sent to: Anna Miller, CSFD Suite 306.
National Scholarships:
Academically gifted students should consider applying for the Fulbright, Truman, or Rhodes scholarships. These scholarship competitions draw applicants from a national pool. Because of the highly competitive nature of such scholarships, students are encouraged to plan ahead and work with the Director of the Center, Magaret Diddams, to prepare the strongest possible application.
