The Center supports faculty scholarship through a variety of programs. SPU encourages, supports, and rewards four distinct yet overlapping types of faculty scholarship: the scholarship of discovery, the scholarship of teaching, the scholarship of application, and the scholarship of synthesis.
Besides administering several university-wide, internally funded research grants, the Center also assists faculty in locating, writing, and applying for external grants that support teaching, scholarly, and creative projects. It houses an academic grant writer, Laura Lundahl, who is available to consult, advise, and assist faculty in their pursuit of outside funding. All applicants for external support must submit the Grant Application Approval Form at least four weeks before the application deadline.
