It's Briefs Week:

  • Senior Faculty Grant and Faculty Research Grant applications are due Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, in the Center’s office.
  • Advising Seminar Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1:00 p.m., DH 150.  Includes an update on the SPU Web tools for faculty advisors and working with Student Academic Services.  Start gearing up for Spring Quarter advising.
  • A helpful handout with loads of web resources on teaching about slavery, Frederick Douglass, and other reconciliation-related matters is available from last week’s Diversity Luncheon, presented by April Middeljans.  Contact Anna Miller, if you’d like to receive a copy.
  • Nominations for the Third Biennial Lilly Fellows Program Book Award are due on March 1, 2009.  A prize of $3000 will be awarded to an original work that best exemplified faith and learning in the Christian intellectual tradition, the vocation of teaching and scholarship, and the history, theory, or practice of the university as a site of religious inquiry.  Click [here] for nomination procedures.
