Pacific: A Christian University
Seattle Pacific
was founded by a small group of Free Methodist pioneers who wanted
to provide a superior education from a Christian perspective.
More than 100 years later, that mission remains unchanged.
 Grounding
everything we do on the transforming gospel of Jesus Christ, SPU
is an evangelical university with a Wesleyan heritage. The University
is historically orthodox in its Christian doctrine and welcomes
students, faculty and staff from different Christian traditions.
Out of our Wesleyan heritage come Seattle Pacific's conviction
that "faith" and "intellect" are both essential
for a meaningful life, and the principle that a Christian university
education should be open to both Christian and non-Christian students.
The
different dimensions of our Christian heritage come together in
the University's commitment to active engagement in the community,
the church and the world. And this creates an unique educational
opportunity for students.
