AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION
Shuttle vans are available from Sea-Tac Airport. This system runs 24 hours a day. Upon arrival at Sea-Tac airport, call for the service and wait approximately 15 minutes for it to take you to your destination. This is a van service and other people may be dropped off on the way. Express Car Services is provided by Shuttle Express. It is a private, nonstop service to and from Sea-Tac Airport in a Lincoln Town Car to any destination in the Seattle area. There is a meet and greet Seville at Sea-Tac baggage claim for arriving customers with advance reservations. 24-hour service is available within the major metropolitan area. Advance reservations recommended. 1-800-324-9227

ALCOHOL
Seattle Pacific University, an evangelical Christian institution, by custom and conviction does not allow the consumption of alcohol, use of illegal drugs, or any other activity which the University deems inconsistent with its mission, in campus buildings and facilities or on its properties.

AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT
Each classroom is equipped with a computer, power point, VCR, television capabilities and overhead screens & L.E.D. projectors. Slide projectors are available upon request.
Upper Gwinn Conference Center has the above technology built into a 'smart podium' which enables the user to operate all the technology by means of a touch screen in the podium.
Wireless microphones are also available in the Upper Gwinn Conference Center.

BANK
A US Bank of Washington, with a cash machine, is located across from the Student Union Building on West Bertona. Hours: Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (206) 585-2881.

BILLING AND PAYMENT
All charges are to be paid within two (2) weeks after billing unless other terms have been made with the university prior to arrival.
All amounts owing to the university which are more than thirty (30) days past due shall be subject to a 1.5% service charge per month or $5, whichever is greater.

BOOKSTORE
Operated by Barnes & Noble, our bookstore is located across from the Student Union Building on West Bertona. It stocks all SPU imprinted clothing, Christian and general books, CD's and tapes, cards and gifts. The bookstore also offers photo-developing services.

BUSES
Seattle's transit system has a good reputation for its accurate scheduling and comprehensive service. There are bus stops near campus that will get you downtown in a few minutes, where you may transfer to any bus in the Seattle-Metropolitan area.

CASEY CONFERENCE CENTER
Located on Whidbey Island, this 200-acre campground enjoys two miles of shoreline at the juncture of Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca with sweeping views of water and mountains. Year-round reservations can be made by calling (425) 775-0775.

CAMPUS INFORMATION
The University Communications Center 'Uni-Com', located in the Student Union Building, provides change for vending and laundry machines and has current bus and ferry schedules.

CATERING
Special catering needs can be accommodated through the Conference Services office. Banquets, cook-outs and barbeques are available as well as snack breaks, and catered meals.

CHURCHES
A Guide to Area Churches is available upon request.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
Registration for on-campus lodging is handled by Conference Services staff. After registration and check-in is completed, a list of room numbers and phone numbers will be made available to the conference planner and his/her staff.

CONFERENCE SUPERVISION
Your group will have a staff person assigned to your group. This staff person will personally oversee your conference and will be your contact person if you have any needs that arise. Your assigned staff person will check with you during meals to make sure your event is running smoothly.

CONTRACTS
Your group will receive a contract outlining charges, billing and policy information. This is a legally binding document so please read this contract carefully prior to signing and returning it to this office.

COOKING AND CANDLES
The use of all cooking or heating appliances that could potentially cause a fire are prohibited in campus housing or facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, coffee makers, hot plates, woks, rice cookers and popcorn poppers. Also prohibited in campus housing: candles, with or without wicks, burned or unburned.

COPY CENTER
The copy center on campus is located in Marston Hall, bldg #37 on your campus map. The copy center, operated by Kinko's, is available for standard copy jobs as well as customized services including event abnners and conference binders.

DAMAGES
Visiting groups will be responsible for restitution of all damages to University property inflicted by their group. Both willful and accidental damages will be accessed and brought to the attention of the conference planner. The Conference Coordinator will report information concerning location, approximate time and participants in any damage when possible, as well as actual repair/replacement costs. The university reserves the right to enter any room for the purpose of inspection, repair or emergency. The university may also reassign residents within a residence hall after timely notification, in order to accomplish necessary repairs.

DEPOSITS
The Organization shall pay the University a non-refundable deposit to confirm the initial reservation, due upon return of signed contract.

EARLY ARRIVALS AND EXTENDED STAYS
Participants who need to arrive early or stay past the conference/event time may make arrangements through the Conference Coordinator. They will be allowed to stay if space permits. The Conference Coordinator will make the arrangements and communicate costs, availability as well as other pertinent information.

FACILITY USE FEES
Each group using our campus is assessed a Facility Use Fee. This fee is designed to help the group budget their costs. The fee covers the use of campus classrooms, parking, technology, basic set-ups, and coordination/monitoring of your event. It does not cover the cost of special arrangements or set-ups.
The Facility Use Fee does not cover the use of Upper Gwinn or the Royal Brougham Gymnasium. Additional charges will be incurred for the use of these facilities.

FOOD SERVICES
Sodexo Marriott is our exclusive food service provider. No other food, donated, catered or purchased by the group, may be brought onto campus for group use.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner may be purchased 'through the line' in our award winning dining hall or catered according to your needs. The Conference Coordinator can help you plan for your dining needs.
Snacks and coffee breaks may be arranged through your Conference Coordinator. A variety of hot and cold drinks, cookies and snacks are available to meet the needs of your group.
Subway Express is located in lower Gwinn, across from Demaray Classroom building, and serves fresh Subway sandwiches as well as a variety of other snacks and drinks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Falcon's Landing is located in the Student Union Building. You can purchase sandwiches, salads and other ala carte items from Falcon's Landing, Monday through Friday.

HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY
Please make your Conference Coordinator aware of any special needs your group may have. We will work to make sure that all accessibility needs are met.

HOSPITAL
Swedish Medical Center Hospital in Ballard is located at NW Market and Barnes. From SPU, drive west on West Nickerson Street and follow the signs to the Ballard Bridge (15th Ave. West.). Cross the Ballard Bridge. Turn west (left) onto NW Market Street. Turn south (left) onto 17th Ave. NW. The hospital entrance is on the right hand side of the street. Their main phone number is (206) 782-2700.
Walgreen's Pharmacy is located at 5409 15th Ave. NW. They have a 24-hour pharmacy. (206) 781-0054
In case of an emergency, dial X2911 from any campus phone.

KEYS
You will be given your room key upon check-in. The key opens your room door, floor door and main door of your residence hall. Room keys not returned at check-out will be deemed lost; replacement cost is $65 which is payable to the University by the Organization prior to departure from campus.

LAUNDRY
Each residence hall has washers and dryers for your use. Quarters only. Please do not leave your laundry unattended. Laundry soap is not provided.

LIBRARY
The library is open daily to provide students access to its ever-growing book collection, as well as periodicals, newspapers and reference materials. Our knowledgeable staff and an on-line catalog are available to assist you.

LINENS
Linens, if included in your lodging rates, are exchanged weekly. Signs indicating exchange days and location are posted on each floor of the residence halls.

LIABILITY
When staying in the Seattle Pacific University residence halls, you assume the responsibility for your room and its contents. The University is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property.

LIABILITY INSURANCE (Event)
The organization shall maintain Liability Insurance as stated in the contract, throughout the duration of your group's stay at SPU.

LOCKOUTS
If you forget your key in your room, call Conference Services for a let-in or call Safety and Security at (206) 281-2922. Be prepared to show identification.

LOUNGES
There is a lounge on each floor of the residence halls. The lounges can be used for informal gatherings or meetings or a place for your group to enjoy some down time at the end of the day.
Each lounge has a television with cable access to 35 channels.
No cooking is allowed in the lounges but refrigerators are available for your use if needed.

MEETING ROOMS AND FACILITIES
SPU has a variety of different meeting rooms available for your use. We have classrooms that seat as few as 20 or as many as 190. We have rooms with fixed seating and rooms that will accommodate a flexible seating arrangement. All rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Upper Gwinn Conference Center is our newly remodeled Conference Center that seats 400 theatre style. Banquet style, at round tables, this space can accommodate 320 people. The conference center can also be divided into two smaller rooms. Upper Gwinn offers state-of-the-art technology to meet any of your audio/visual needs.
Royal Brougham Gymnasium can host basketball and volleyball teams. Weight rooms are also available.

NON-PROFIT STATUS
Your organization agrees to provide SPU with a copy of your Internal Revenue Service Exemption Letter or Registration Form from the State indicating that your organization is incorporated as a non-profit organization. Please note that a federal identification number is not sufficient proof.

PARKING
Parking permits are not required during the summer. You may park on the street or in any campus lot except those spaces marked 'Reserved'.

PETS
In the interest of safety and sanitation, pets, other than those required for handicapped assistance, are not permitted in the residence halls or other campus buildings.

PRE-CONFERENCE MEETINGS
We encourage you or a representative from your group to visit our campus prior to your conference for a pre-conference meeting. You can see the facilities and have questions answered at that time.

PUBLICITY
Any printed material which mentions Seattle Pacific University must be approved in advance of publication by the Conference Services Department.

QUIET HOURS
To be considerate of other guests and the surrounding residential neighborhood, we ask that your group observe quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

RESIDENCE HALL USE
Hall furnishing are designated only for that area and are not to be removed or exchanged.
Residence halls are co-ed by floor.
No pets are allowed in the residence halls.
All guest are requested to be considerate of their neighbors. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

SAFETY & SECURITY
Open 24 hours daily, call (206)281-2911 to report Emergencies Only. The Security Staff will contact the proper city authorities and will come to your aid. For non-emergencies call (206) 281-2922.
Officers are trained and prepared to assist in situations including emergencies, first aid, stranded motorists and room let-ins.
For an escort by a Security Officer, call (206) 281-2922 or using a campus phone, dial X 2922. A Security Officer will be happy to escort you to your on-campus destination.

SIGNS
All signs must be approved by the Conference Services Office prior to posting. Blue painter's tape, provided by the Conference Services Office, is the only type of tape that can be used on university surfaces.
Nothing may be affixed to the walls of the Upper Gwinn Conference Center.

SMOKING
No smoking is allowed in any building on campus. Smoking is allowed outside buildings where ashtrays are available.

STUDENT UNION BUILDING
Public Restrooms, pay and on-campus telephones, vending machines and campus information are in the S.U.B.

Local telephone service is complementary and allows you to make calls from your room. Dial '9' to make off-campus calls.
If you cannot make the connection, the number may be long distance and can only be accessed by calling collect or using a calling card.
To call collect, dial '9' and then 1-800-COLLECT to access an operator.
To call long distance with a calling card, dial '9' and then follow the instructions on your card.

TOURIST INFORMATION
Requests for tourist information can be made to the Conference Services Office at SPU or Seattle-King County Convention and Visitor's Bureau (206) 461-5840.

VENDING MACHINES
Coin operated soda, juice and snack machines are located throughout the campus and in each residence hall to ensure you have access to quick energy snacks.
