William Purcell teaches classes in Communication Theory, Rhetorical Theory, Argumentation, and Public Speaking. He has published two books, Ars poetriae: Rhetoeical and Grammatical Invention at the Margin of Literacy (1996) and The Rhetorical Short Story: Best American Short Stories on War and the Military, 1915-2006 (2009).
