Academic Renewal Grant funds are allocated to CAS from the Office of Academic Affairs and become available in the spring. Grants are to be used for development of more effective teaching and learning strategies. Funds may be requested to support replacement faculty or overload contracts, compensation for regular faculty in summer, learning resources, and administrative and consultant support. Although there is no official cap on the amount of funds that can be requested, grants are generally no more than $3000. Grants may be used for any quarter beginning spring through winter of the following year. Preference will be given to the following activities: classroom practice which is innovative and has a direct effect on student learning, practices related to assessment, and pedagogical innovations that are transferable to other colleagues or programs. Click on the ARG application proposal form and submit it to the Dean of CAS in January (check CAS Calendar for exact date). Once received, the proposals will be reviewed and considered for funding by the Dean who will usually notify candidates of the approval process by February. |
