The Broncos (23-6) rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to advance to Monday’s title game at 7 p.m. against the winner of tonight’s second game between top-seeded Seattle Pacific and fourth-seeded Western Washington.

Bakersfield’s largest lead was 63-50 at the 10:01 mark of the second half and the Roadrunners were still up by eight (75-67) with 4:37 remaining, but Allen’s three-pointer cut the deficit to three with 3:08 left and following a tipin by Keila Beachem with 2:34 left, Allen tied it at 77-77 by making one of two foul shots with 1:36 remaining.

There were then five lead exchanges in the final 40 seconds. Margaux Hallahan hit two foul shot with 5.6 seconds left to give Bakersfield an 84-83 lead, but Allen was then fouled on the inbounds pass setting up her go-ahead foul shots. Then following a turnover, she added the insurance free throws.

Beachem finished with career-highs of 28 points and 20 rebounds to lead Cal Poly Pomona, while Allen had 26. Brandi Fletcher also was in double figures with 11 points.

Jasmere Kirby led Cal State Bakersfield (23-6) with 28 points and eight rebounds, Katie McElree had 24 for the Roadrunners.

Cal Poly Pomona will face Seattle Pacific Monday night at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the Cal Poly Pomona web site at www.csupomona.edu/~athletic. A pregame show is scheduled to begin at 6:50 p.m.
