The Roadrunners (21-7) will play the winner of tonight’s final game between top-seed Seattle Pacific and eighth-seeded Central Washington in Saturday’s second semifinal game at 7 p.m.

In earlier games, Western Washington eliminated Humboldt State 100-86 and Chaminade ousted Alaska Anchorage 84-67. WWU (22-6), the No. 2 seed in the tournament, will face third-seeded Chaminade (19-8) in Friday’s first semifinal game at 5.

Mitchell connected on six of nine shots and finished with 24 points, while Barnes made five of seven three-pointers and finished with 23 points. No one else was in double figures for the Roadrunners (21-7).

Tipton had game-highs of 28 points and 17 rebounds as he made seven of 14 shots, including two of three three-pointers. Tipton, who had seven offensive rebounds, was also 12 of 13 from the foul.

Also in double figures were Kevin Christensen with 12 points and Vince Inglima with 11.

The Roadrunners bolted to an 18-4 lead, running off 13 consecutive points at one point and led by eight at halftime.

The Seawolves (18-9), however, behind 19 points and 11 rebounds by Tipton in the second half, pulled to within one on three different occasions before finally going ahead for the first time since the opening minute on a pair of free throws by Tipton with 56 seconds left.

But, the lead was short-lived as Randall Harding hit a three-pointer with 48 seconds left to put Bakersfield back on top 63-61.

Mitchell then hit a layup with 26 seconds left to make it 65-61. He then added four free throws and Barnes made two in the final 17 seconds to clinch the victory.
