Falcon Men Win Another Close Decision; Open GNAC Play With 1-0 Victory at Saint Martin's
September 7, 2007

Complete Box Score

LACEY, Wash. (Sept. 7) Jeff Hallenbeck's first-half goal was enough to send 11th-ranked Seattle Pacific University past Saint Martin's, 1-0, in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference opening men's soccer game for both teams Friday at the Regional Athletic Complex.

Unbeaten through five games, the Falcons (4-0-1) posted their third shutout, although keeper Kellen Rosten (Sr., Colorado Springs, Co.) was only required to make one save.

Hallenbeck (Sr., Redmond, Wa./Inglemoor) scored his second goal of the season in the 37th minute. Following a corner kick, Colin Kosco (Jr., Edmonds, Wa./Meadowdale) put the ball back into the box and Hallenbeck headed home from 8 yards.

Hallenbeck has now either scored or assisted on the Falcons' last four goals over three games.

Seattle Pacific finished with an 11-3 advantage in shots and 8-2 in corners. Saints (2-5-0) goalie Zac Lubin made seven saves.
