SEASIDE, CA (SEPT.1) Angie Wodrich had 23 kills and Alyssa Given had 20, as Seattle Pacific beat Notre Dame de Namur in five games Saturday night to close out the Otter Invitational at Cal State Monterey Bay University.

The Falcons (5-3) lost the first game to the Argos (2-6) 28-30, but rallied back to take the match 30-24, 30-19, 27-30, and 15-9 in the crucial fifth game.

Wodrich (Sr., Richland, Wa.) hit a team leading .420 for the match, and Given (Sr., Salinas, Ca.), who was playing 10 miles from her home, hit .177 and had five service aces in the contest as well.

Freshmen standouts Courtney Alberi (Castaic, Ca.) and Joelle Perez (Vancouver, Wa.) had 11 kills and 63 assists respectively in the match.

Emily Evans led the way for Notre Dame de Namur with 13 kills.

In the earlier match of the day, Alisha Green led the way for University of Tampa with 12 kills, as the Spartans beat Seattle Pacific University in three games 30-18, 30-22, and 30-26.

Tampa (6-1), ranked #1 in the Nation, hit a staggering .330 for the match compared to SPU who hit .134. The first game saw Tampa outscore SPU by percentages of .387 to .067.

The Falcons were led by Given who threw down a match leading 14 kills, with Wodrich the next closest Falcon at five kills.

SPU closed out competition at the Otter Invitational with a record of 2-2, and faces cross town rival Seattle University at Royal Brougham Pavilion next Thursday night at 7 p.m.
