3 Coyotes Sweep No. 20 Falcons in Volleyball Opener August 23, 2007 |

SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Aug. 23) Behind the 13 kills of Jessica Granados, No. 3-ranked Cal State San Bernardino swept 20th-ranked Seattle Pacific University in the volleyball season opener for both teams Thursday night at Coussoulis Arena. The Coyotes (1-0), who also got 26 assists from Sara Hoffman and 10 digs from Meghan Haas, beat the Falcons (0-1) 30-21, 30-20 and 30-20. Alyssa Given (Sr., Salinas, Ca.) paced SPU with nine kills, two blocks stuffs and two service aces. Angie Wodrich (Sr., Richland, Wa.) had two solo blocks. San Bernardino hit .214 for the match, compared to Seattle Pacific's .146. The Falcons face No. 4 UC San Diego in the second round of the Coyote Classic Friday afternoon. |
