Falcon Men Start at No. 22 Nationally in Preseason Soccer Poll

SEATTLE (Aug. 14) ­ Beginning the new men's soccer season at just about the same ranking where it finished a year ago, Seattle Pacific University is No. 22 in the NSCAA/adidas preseason coaches poll.

The Falcons are one of four Far West Region teams listed in the top 25, joining (No. 8), Seattle (No. 12), Cal State Dominguez Hills (16) and Cal State L.A. (17).

SPU opens its campaign Aug. 23 at Chico State.

Defending NCAA Division II champion Dowling (N.Y.) is No. 1, followed by Fort Lewis (Co.) and West Florida.

Seattle Pacific began the '06 season ranked ninth and finished 23rd after going 12-7-0 and losing to Cal State L.A. in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament.
