SEATTLE (Aug. 2) Seattle Pacific
University will embark on its fourth men's basketball
international tour next month with five games scheduled against
European clubs between Sept. 11-17.
The Falcons depart Sept. 9 for Holland, where
they will visit Weert Upstairs (Sept. 11) and Nijmengen Matrixx
Magixx (Sept. 12). In Belgium, they face the Antwerp Giants (Sept.
14) and Gent (Sept. 15). The junket concludes at Vanves, France,
Sept. 17.
This is the first SPU overseas exhibition tour
since a 2003 trip to Australia. The team went to Germany and
Holland in 1995 and Brazil in 1999.
Coach Jeff Hironaka will bring 10 returnees and
redshirts from the SPU squad which went 18-10, sharing the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference championship.
