SEATTLE (July 6) Anissa Madrid, an
eight-time state champion gymnast from Kennedy High School, has
signed a national letter of intent at Seattle Pacific University.
Madrid shared this season's 2-3A title on floor
and was second in all-around, bars and vault. Competing in the
Level 10 senior Western Regionals, she placed second on beam for
the Metropolitan Gymnastics Club.
As a junior she claimed crowns in the vault,
floor and bars. In 2004 Madrid swept all four event titles (vault,
bars, beam and floor).
Seattle Pacific lost its top two all-arounders
following a second-place national finish, and has now signed five
recruits for next year.
