7 of First 8 SPU 2007 Women’s Soccer Matches at Interbay
June 17, 2007

Complete 2007 Schedule

SEATTLE – Seattle Pacific University’s women’s soccer season should gather momentum from the outset as the Falcons play seven of their first eight games at home.

The Falcons, who have played for the Far West Region championship each of the last four years, open their campaign Aug. 23 by facing Hawaii Hilo at Interbay Stadium. In all, 12 of 20 games are at home, including the Oct. 24 Senior Night versus Seattle University.

There are three homestands of three or more games, but four of the final five regular season contests are on the road. SPU takes only one trip to California, that coming Sept. at Chico State.

The Great Northwest Athletic Conference portion of the schedule expanded from 10 to 14 games with the addition of Saint Martin’s and Montana State Billings.

Seattle Pacific has lost only once in its last 23 games at Interbay (20-1-2) and was 17-5-0 last fall.

Eight of coach Chuck Sekyra’s starters are returning, including all-region selections Sarah Martinez, Kara Hamby and Claire Grubbs
