SEATTLE (May 24) -- Seattle Pacific University
gymnast Sarah Sullivan and rowing coxswain Megan Giske have been
voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII
team.
Sullivan (Sr., Salem, Or./Sprague) and Giske
(Sr., Gig Harbor, Wa./Gig Harbor) are now a finalists for the
Academic All-America for at-large sports.
An art major, Sullivan has a cumulative grade
point average of 3.63. She was named the Division II Gymnast of
the Year and was the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation champion
on balance beam. Sullivan led Seattle Pacific to second place at
the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships last month, taking
third place on floor, fifth on vault and seventh in all-around.
Giske, a sociology major with a 3.87 GPA,
helped steer the SPU womens varsity eight to their first
NCAA Championships berth. The Falcons finished third in the West
Regional and she was named to both the all-conference and
all-region teams.
