SEATTLE (May 16) Eight members of the
Seattle Pacific University men's and women's rowing programs have
been named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference At-Large
Academic team.
Jeremy Bryant (Sr., Gig Harbor, Wa./Gig
Harbor), the stroke oar for the men's varsity four, has a grade
point average of 3.66. He will graduate with a degree in
accounting.
Four members of the women's varsity eight crew
bound for the NCAA Championships were recognized, including
all-conference coxswain Megan Giske (Sr., Gig Harbor, Wa./Gig
Harbor), who has a 3.87 GPA and stroke Rachel Savage (So.,
Encinitas, Ca./San Dieguito) who has a 3.91.
Athletes eligible for the at-large team are
those that compete in sports at GNAC institutions that are either
independent (not an officially sponsored conference sport) or
compete in another conference which does not officially select an
academic all-conference team.
All letter winners who are in at least their
second year of competition and have a minimum cumulative grade
point average of 3.20 are eligible to be selected to the team.
