SEATTLE (May 14) ­ Eddie Strickler of Seattle Pacific University was chosen the Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's track and field athlete of the week following his near-record performance at the Ken Foreman Invitational.

Strickler (Sr., Richland, Wa./Richland) all but clinched a NCAA berth in the 800 improving his qualifying time by nine-tenths of a second to 1:50.83. The mark ranks second in GNAC history and fourth on the Falcons' all-time list.

The NCAA Championships are May 24-26 in Charlotte, N.C.
