SPU Women Pace GNAC With 13 Academic Track Honorees
May 9, 2007

SEATTLE (May 9) ­ Seattle Pacific University led all Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's track and field teams with 13 individuals named to the academic all-GNAC team.

A total of 108 student-athletes (68 women, 40 men) were honored. SPU had a total of three men recognized.

The Falcons, who won both the GNAC women's indoor and outdoor championships, featured five three-time selections: Kristin Janney (Sr., White Salmon, Wa.), Jennifer Marsh (Sr., Kirkland, Wa./Juanita), Victoria Perkins (Sr., Kent, Wa./Kentwood), James Rosser (Sr., Seattle, Wa./Highline) and Eddie Strickler (Sr., Richland, Wa.).

Two-time honorees were Monica Anderson (Jr., Bremerton, Wa./Bremerton), Molly Barnes (Sr., Burien, Wa./Highline), Kelsey Cooley (Jr., Missoula, Mt./Hellgate), Michael Gavareski (Sr., Bellingham, Wa./Bellingham), Kaitlin Rohde (Jr., Bellingham, Wa./Mt. Baker), Karin Rohde (Jr., Bellingham, Wa./Mt. Baker) and Megan Wrightman (Jr., Bend, Or./Bend).

To be eligible for the academic team, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 and be in at least their second year of competition at their university. They must also qualify to compete in either the GNAC Indoor or GNAC Outdoor track-and-field championship meet.
