SEATTLE (May 3) ­ Brianna Steigauf of Minnesota and Laura Willis of California became the first gymnasts this spring to sign national letters of intent with Seattle Pacific University.

Steigauf, a native of Richfield, Minn., placed fourth on vault and floor at this year's Level 10 Region IV Championships. She was also ninth in all-around. Steigauf, who competed for Tags South, attends the Academy of Holy Angels.

A resident of Temecula, Calif., and student at Linfield High School, Willis is coming off a Level 9 Region I meet in which she took third on bars and fifth in all-around for her club, Kips. She qualified for the upcoming Western Nationals, May 11-13 in Spokane.

Seattle Pacific finished second in the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships under coach Laurel Tindall. The Falcons lose their top two all-arounders to graduation.
