SEATTLE (May 3) Where else will you find
6-foot-10 giants on the receiving end of trash-talking by
acrobatic yet diminutive gymnasts, and soccer goalkeepers diving
to catch a low, wicked slider from a javelin thrower?
It's Seattle Pacific University's second annual
Student-Athlete Dodgeball Tournament, taking place from 3-5 p.m.
Sunday afternoon (May 6) in Brougham Pavilion. It's presented by
the SPU Student Athlete Advisory Committee and admission is free.
Women's, men's and coed Falcon teams will go
head-to-head, hurling red rubber playground balls at one another.
All in good fun, of course. Still, direct hits may leave a mark.
The inaugural dodgeball tournament, featured an
all-basketball championship match which was won by the men.
Will the side with the biggest wingspan defend
it crown, or will agility and finesse rule the day? And, just as
importantly, who will be judged best-dressed?
Make your predictions. But remember: Don't bet
on it.
