Gymnast Sullivan Receives NCAA Postgrad Scholarship
May 1, 2007

SEATTLE (May 1) Sarah Sullivan of Seattle Pacific University's gymnastics team has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for winter sports participants.

Sullivan (Sr., Salem, Or./Sprague), an eight-time All-American and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation champion on balance beam this past season, becomes the Falcons' 21st NCAA honoree and seventh in three years.

Sullivan is the fourth SPU gymnast to receive an NCAA postgraduate award.

An art major with a 3.63 GPA, Sullivan helped lead Seattle Pacific to second place at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships last month. She took third on floor, fifth on vault and seventh in all-around. In addition to winning the MPSF title on beam, Sullivan was runner-up on vault, floor and all-around.

The NCAA has awarded 58 postgraduate scholarships of $7,500 each to 29 male student-athletes and 29 female student-athletes who participated in winter sports. Including fall and spring sports, a total of 170 postgraduate scholarships will be awarded.
