April 14, 2007

Complete Results

ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Apr. 14) Jessica Hinton won both of the short sprints to highlight Seattle Pacific University's day at the Spike Arlt Invitational track and field meet Saturday at Tomlinson Stadium.

Hinton (Fr., Lake Stevens, Wa.) won the 100 meters in a personal-best time of 12.54 seconds and the 200 in 25.6, helping the shorthanded Falcons take fourth place overall.

Host Central Washington won both the women's and men's team titles. The SPU women, with many of their frontrunners at the Mount SAC Relays this weekend, got only five points from the field events. The men were seventh.

In all, Seattle Pacific athletes were winners in six events but did not add any NCAA qualifying marks.

Kim Beaman (So., Emily, Mn.) began the day with a win in the steeplechase (12:34.0) and Katie Hart (So., Pasadena, Ca.) followed by taking first in the 5000 (19:11.2). The women's other win came from Jenn Marsh (Sr., Kirkland, Wa./Juanita) in the 800 (2:19.60).

Justin Felt (Fr., Eugene, Or./Churchill) claimed the men's sole win in the long jump, with a season-best leap of 22 feet, 3¾ inches.

Next week the Falcons will be in Eugene for the Oregon Invitational.
