Berkeley, Ca. (Apr. 14)Sarah Sullivan and
Debra Huss competed as all-arounders to represent Seattle Pacific
University in the NCAA Gymnastics West Regional Championship
Saturday night held in University of Californias Haas
Pavilion.
Sullivan (Sr., Salem, Or./Sprague) posted a
38.600 in the all-around competition placing 15th overall. She was
strong on all four events and scored her highest on vault (9.700)
followed by floor exercise (9.675).
Huss (Sr., Orangevale, Ca./Bella Vista) made
her second NCAA West Regional appearance and managed a 9.700 on
both floor exercise and bars. After a rough landing on vault
(9.025), Huss chose to refrain from balance beam as a
precautionary measure in preparation for the week ahead.
The team competition was claimed by Utah State
(197.325) and Nebraska (196.650). These two teams move on to the
national championship in Salt Lake City.
Huss and Sullivan return home and join the
Falcon flock in preparing for the USA Gymnastics National
Championships held in Seattle Pacifics Royal Brougham
Pavilion Apr. 19-21.
