EUGENE, Ore. (Apr. 14) Seattle Pacific
University pulled out victories in three categories, including
both the women's varsity eight and four races, Saturday at the
Covered Bridge Regatta on Dexter Lake.
In a steady rain on a relatively smooth
surface, the Falcons earned their second win of the year against
their West Region rivals, Humboldt State, in the women's eight.
Their wining time of 7 minutes, 7 seconds was good for a one-seat
margin over the runner-up Lumberjacks.
In the varsity four, SPU was an easy winner
over Portland, and the men's lightweight four took the title in
the junior varsity four category.
Elsewhere, the men's four varsity four, missing
one of its regular rowers, was a close second to Lewis &
Clark, and the women's novice four was just behind Humboldt.
Next Saturday the Falcons compete for NCRC
championships at Lake Stevens.
