SEATTLE (Apr. 9) -Seattle Pacific University's
Monica Anderson was selected as the track and field athlete of the
week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference after an
impressive performance at the Vernaccia Invitational in Bellingham
over the weekend.
Anderson (Jr., Bremerton, Wa.) won the pole
vault with a meet record and NCAA Division II provisional national
qualifying vault of 12-1.5. In doing so, she became the fifth
vaulter in GNAC history to clear 12 feet.
Seattle Pacific will send select athletes to
the Mount SAC Relays (Apr. 13-15) in Southern California. The rest
of the squad will compete at the Spike Arlt Invitational, Apr. 14
in Ellensburg.
