SEATTLE (Mar. 26) -Seattle Pacific University's
NyEma Sims and Brian Cronrath were selected as the track and field
athletes of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference
after impressive performances at the Trojan Invitational.
Sims (Fr., Portland, Or./Jefferson) set a pair
of GNAC records and posted two NCAA provisional national
qualifying times. She placed eighth in the 100 meters with a mark
12.00 seconds, chopping .13 seconds off the previous conference
record. The time also ranks No. 3 all-time for the Falcons. Sims
also finished 12th in the 200 in a time of 24.71, eclipsing the
previous record of 25.07 and moving into fourth place on the
all-time SPU chart.
Cronrath, Seattle Pacific (Jr., Battle Ground,
Wa.) placed fourth in the 1500, running a PR of 3:56.07. His time
ranks No. 6 all-time for SPU and No. 2 in the conference this
season.
The Falcons are now idle until the Vernacchia
Team Classic Apr. 7 in Bellingham.
