SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Mar. 23) -- Dustin
Bremerman of Seattle Pacific University was a member of the West
team which came from 16 points down in the second half to beat the
East 97-92 in the NCAA Division II All-Star game at the Naismith
Basketball Hall of Fame Friday.
Bremerman (Sr., 6-4, Yakima, Wa./Eisenhower)
scored five points and grabbed seven rebounds in 15 minutes of
action off the bench. He hit a three-pointer at the end of the
first half.
Humboldt State's Kevin Johnson had 18 points
and 13 rebounds for the West, which went on a 41-11 spree in the
second half. Another West Region selection, Chaminade's Zack
Whiting, hit connected on five free throws in the final 95
seconds, when the game was ultimately decided.
The East had led by as many as 22 points in the
opening period.
