SEATTLE, Wa. (Mar. 23)—Despite a record total score by Seattle Pacific University, Ashley Houghting's two event victories paced Washington to a 194.475 to 193.725 gymnastics road win at Brougham Pavilion Saturday night.

The Huskies (5-9) got two of their highest scores of the season on floor and beam to pull away from a tight meet after two rotations, 194.475 to 193.725.

In their final regular season meet, the Falcons (1-16) also matched their school record on vault (48.650). Their overall total eclipsed the record of 193.700, set six years ago, and was a full four points better than a week earlier at Oregon State.

Houghting posted the top score on the night when she danced a 9.975 on floor. She also stuck a 9.950 vault and was second on beam with a 9.775. Her 39.350 all-around total was a pavilion record.

Debra Huss (Sr., Orangevale, Ca.) (38.850) and Sarah Sullivan (Sr., Salem, Or./Sprague), both of SPU, finished second (38.850) and third (38.825), respectively.

Seniors Sullivan, Huss and Kristin Bryant (Anchorage, Ak./West Anchorage) rose to the occasion on Senior Night. Sullivan posted two scores which rate among the top 10 all-time, a 9.875 on floor and a 9.850 on beam.

Bryant did the same on vault where she hit a 9.850 for a second place tie with Washington's Cassidy Lance. It matched Bryant's career high and tied for No. 4 all-time.

Washington's Kristin Omori won balance beam (9.850) and was third on floor (9.875). Raimey Iselin swung a 9.800 win on uneven bars.

Seattle Pacific's Ashley Domres (Jr., Scottsdale, Az./Scottsdale Christian) tied for second with Natalie Gillian on bars (9.700).

While Huss did not finish among the top three in any event, she was fourth on both beam (9.750) and floor (9.825).

SPU notched a season-high 48.525 on beam, and has now averaged 192.525 over the last seven Senior Nights.

The Falcons host the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships next Friday (Mar. 30).
