SEATTLE (Mar. 12) After becoming the
schools first freshman to win an NCAA championship in 15
years, Seattle Pacific Universitys Jessica Pixler was named
the womens track and field athlete of the week in the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference.
Pixler (Fr., Sammamish, Wa./Eastlake) won the
mile by nearly five seconds at the NCAA indoor nationals, smashing
her own SPU and GNAC records in a time of 4:42.42. She also earned
All-American honors in the distance medley relay, anchoring the
Falcons foursome which finished eighth.
