Bekins, Cronrath Are GNAC Track Athletes of Week
March 5, 2007

SEATTLE (Mar. 5) ­ Seattle Pacific University's Brittany Bekins and Brian Cronrath were named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference track & field athletes of the week after setting meet records in their outdoor debuts.

Bekins (So., Everett, Wa./Cascade) won three events at a triangular in Tacoma, Wash., and threw well beyond the NCAA Division II provisional standard in the javelin with a mark of 150 feet, 4 inches. She also was first in the 800 (2:20.75) and high jump (5-1).

Cronrath set his meet record in the 1500 meters (3:57.12)

The Falcons will send eight athletes to the NCAA Indoor Championships, beginning Friday in Boston. The rest of the squad will be back in Tacoma for the Joe Peyton Invitational, hosted by Puget Sound.
