SEATTLE (Feb. 28) Oddly, after extending
its win streak to three games the Seattle Pacific University
slipped one spot to No. 4 in the women's basketball rankings for
the West Region of NCAA Division II.
In the final rating prior to Sunday's
tournament selection announcement, the Falcons (18-7) gave ground
to Alaska Anchorage, their rival for the Great Northwest Athletic

Nos. 1 and 2.
SPU visits Northwest Nazarene Thursday night at
Seattle University Saturday to conclude the regular season.
Western Washington and Northwest Nazarene are
also ranked this week at the No. 9 and No. 10 positions, but would
have to move up into the top eight to qualify for the playoffs.
The Vikings tumbled four spots from No. 5 after losing twice.
On Saturday night, the NCAA regional selection
committee will select which six at-large teams join the CCAA and
