SEATTLE (Feb. 21) ­ For the third week in a row Seattle Pacific University is No. 3 in the women's basketball rankings for the West Region of NCAA Division II.

Although they split two road games, the Falcons (16-7) held their position behind UC San Diego and Chico State.

SPU hosts Western Washington, the No. 5 team, Saturday night. The Falcons and Vikings are also 1-2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Alaska Anchorage is the only other GNAC team under consideration, at No. 4.

The weekly poll will eventually help determine which six at-large teams join the GNAC and CCAA regular-season champions, in the eight-team regional tournament in March.
