LACEY, Wash. (Feb. 17) Dustin Bremerman
poured in 33 points, hitting seven three-pointers, as Seattle
Pacific University reclaimed first place in the Great Northwest
Athletic Conference with a 99-91 victory over Saint Martin's
Saturday night at Saint Martin's Pavilion.
The Falcons (9-4, 16-8), who began the night
tied with idle Central Washington for first in the GNAC, connected
on 61 percent (33-54) from the field and finished with six players
scoring in double figures.
They never trailed after hitting their first
three treys and held a comfortable lead following a 14-4 burst
midway through the contest.
Bremerman (Sr., 6-4, Yakima, Wa./Eisenhower)
started the spree with a three just before the halftime buzzer.
Rob Will (Jr., 6-10, Seattle, Wa./O'Dea) punctuated it with a dunk
for a 58-43 bulge with 16:27 remaining.
Bremerman sank 12 of 16 shots, with the only
four misses coming from outside the arc.
JoJay Jackson (Jr., 6-5, Fairfield, Ca.) added
15 points and Will 14. The Falcons are now 10-0 this season when
shooting at least 50 percent from the floor and have won 29 in a
row over three seasons.
The loss spoiled Jake Linton's 36-point
performance for the Saints (7-6, 10-14). Linton also had eight
assists. Twelve of his points came in the final five minutes when
SMU cut into a 19-point deficit.
With three games remaining in the regular
season, SPU returns home to face Alaska Fairbanks Thursday night.
