BOULDER, Colo. (Feb. 10) Jessica Pixler
of Seattle Pacific University ran 10th at the USA Junior Cross
Country Championships Saturday at Flatirons Golf Course.
Pixler (Fr., Sammamish, Wa./Eastlake), who had
also finished 10th at the NCAA Division II Championship three
months ago, completed the 6000 meters in 22 minutes, 45 seconds.
Fifteen-year-old Jordan Hasay of Arroyo Grande,
Calif., won the race by 14 seconds in 21:44. North Carolina State¹s
Bona Jones was runner-up.
Six athletes make the U.S. team for the World
Championships, to be held Mar. 24 in Kenya.
Pixler owns the nation's top qualifying time
for the indoor mile, with a SPU record of 4:47.80 set last month.
