MONMOUTH, Ore. (Feb. 10) ­ Dustin Bremerman pumped in 21 points and Rob Will delivered two key baskets down the stretch for 22nd-ranked Seattle Pacific University, which reclaimed first place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with a 72-61 win at Western Oregon Saturday night.

The Falcons (8-4, 15-8) led from the outset but did not put away the Wolves (2-9, 7-15) until Will (Jr., 6-10, Seattle, Wa./O'Dea) repelled a rally by scoring inside on consecutive possessions for a 62-53 advantage.

Bremerman (Sr., 6-4, Yakima, Wa./Eisenhower) scored 15 of his points in the first period, when SPU forged a 15-point lead shortly before going to the locker room ahead 39-29.

Bremerman connected on one of his four three-pointers and Rob Diederichs (Fr., 6-8, Shoreline, Wa./Shorewood) added four points, fueling a 13-2 run which put Seattel Pacific in front 50-35.

Western Oregon, which was topped by the 18 points and 11 rebounds of Jacob Mitchell, twice trimmed the margin to five in the second half.

Bremerman followed Will's buckets with a pair of free throws, restoring the lead to 64-53 and the Wolves got no closer than seven.

Will also blocked five shots, helping SPU hold the hosts to 32-percent shooting (19-59). The Falcons hit 42 percent (23-54), including 8 of 19 threes.

SPU is off until visiting Saint Martin's next Saturday. The Saints were beaten by Central Washington, allowing the Falcons to move into first.
