SEATTLE (Feb. 7) Holding steady, Seattle
Pacific University remained at No. 5 in the mens basketball
rankings for the West Region of NCAA Division II this week.
Cal State San Bernardino stayed at No. 1
despite losing to Humboldt State, now the No. 2 team.
SPU (14-7) is the top Great Northwest Athletic
Conference team, and is followed by rivals Alaska Fairbanks,
Seattle University and Alaska Anchorage.
The top eight teams in next months final
poll, assuming the GNAC and CCAA champions which receive automatic
berths are among the top eight, qualify for the NCAA playoffs.

Bernardino (13-3); 2. Humboldt State (14-3); 3. BYU-Hawaii (16-5);
4. Cal Poly Pomona (11-5); 5. Seattle Pacific (12-7); 6. Alaska
Fairbanks (11-5); 7. Seattle (11-7); 8. Alaska Anchorage (11-4);
9. Grand Canyon (10-6); 10. Chaminade (8-5). Note : Records listed
are versus Division II opponents.
