Falcon Women Slide to 6th in West Hoops
January 31, 2007

SEATTLE (Jan. 31) Seattle Pacific University slid three spots to No. 6 in the women's basketball rankings for the West Region of NCAA Division II this week.

Following a 60-58 road loss to Western Washington, the Falcons (12-5) fell three places. They will host two games this week, including No. 7 Seattle University Saturday.

Defending regional champion Chico State and UC San Diego are 1-2 in the West again this week, and the first four teams are all CCAA members.

The weekly poll will eventually help determine which six at-large teams join the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and CCAA regular-season champions, in the eight-team regional tournament in March.

West Region - 1. Chico State (13-2); 2. UC San Diego (12-3); 3. Humboldt State (12-3); 4. Cal State Dominguez Hills (10-3); 5. Western Washington (11-4); 6. Seattle Pacific (8-4); 7. Seattle (13-4); 8. Cal State San Bernardino (10-4); 9. Northwest Nazarene (8-6); 10. Central Washington (11-4).
Note: Records listed are versus Division II opponents.
