SEATTLE (Jan. 31) Seattle Pacific
University slid three spots to No. 6 in the women's basketball
rankings for the West Region of NCAA Division II this week.
Following a 60-58 road loss to Western
Washington, the Falcons (12-5) fell three places. They will host
two games this week, including No. 7 Seattle University Saturday.
Defending regional champion Chico State and UC
San Diego are 1-2 in the West again this week, and the first four
teams are all CCAA members.
The weekly poll will eventually help determine
which six at-large teams join the Great Northwest Athletic
Conference and CCAA regular-season champions, in the eight-team
regional tournament in March.
West Region - 1. Chico State (13-2); 2.
UC San Diego (12-3); 3. Humboldt State (12-3); 4. Cal State
Dominguez Hills (10-3); 5. Western Washington (11-4); 6. Seattle
Pacific (8-4); 7. Seattle (13-4); 8. Cal State San Bernardino
(10-4); 9. Northwest Nazarene (8-6); 10. Central Washington
(11-4).
