SEATTLE (Jan. 20) ­ Two nights after it best shooting in seven years, Seattle Pacific University cooled considerably in going down to defeat, 86-68 to Seattle University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's basketball game at Connolly Center Saturday.

Ryan Webb paced a balanced offense with 16 points and the Redhawks (3-2, 11-5) held SPU to 34-percent shooting in the second half and 41 percent overall.

Dustin Bremerman (Sr., Yakima, Wa./Eisenhower) led the Falcons (4-2, 11-6) with 19 points­14 coming after intermission. Rob Will (Sr., 6-10, Seattle, Wa./O'Dea), who carried the visitors in the first half, finished with 16 but the other three starters managed just 12 combined points.

It was the worst GNAC defeat in six years for Seattle Pacific, which remains second in the standings. It hosts first-place Saint Martin's Thursday night.

A 10-2 spurt late in the first period pushed the Seattle U. lead to 38-26 and SPU got no closer than nine the rest of the way. Center David White scored six during the spree and finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Redhawks had six more rebounds (38-32) and eight fewer turnovers (5-13), and also shot 53 percent from the floor.

Seattle Pacific had hit 70 percent and passed for 34 assists in a 108-80 win at Northwest Nazarene Thursday night. The Falcons were credited with just nine assists versus Seattle U.
