SEATTLE (Jan. 15) ­ Jessica Pixler of Seattle Pacific University was named the women's track and field athlete of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference following her record-setting indoor debut.

Pixler (Fr., Sammamish, Wa./Eastlake) broke the SPU and GNAC mile records, placing fourth at the Washington Preview in an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 4:47.80. She later ran a 4:56 mile leg in the distance medley relay to lead that foursome to second place and a provisional qualifying time of 11:56.66.

The Falcons' next indoor meet is Jan. 26-27 at Washington.
