SEATTLE (Nov. 10) -- Jessica Pixler of Seattle
Pacific University has been chosen the NCAA Division II West
Regions womens cross country runner of the year by the
U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Pixler (Fr., Sammamish, Wa./Eastlake) is
unbeaten in four meets this season, winning both the Great
Northwest Athletic Conference and regional crowns. She is the
first SPU harrier to accomplish the latter in 21 years.
The Falcons and Pixler won the GNAC and
finished second in the West to earn a berth in the NCAA
Championships, Nov. 18 in Pensacola, Fla. She is also a member of
the Seattle Pacific soccer team that reached the second round of
the NCAA tournament.
