Falcons' Given, Von Moos Make All-Region Volleyball
November 7, 2006

SEATTLE (Nov. 7) Alyssa Given and Jenna Von Moos of playoff-bound Seattle Pacific University have both been voted to the Daktronics All-Pacific Region volleyball first team.

Given (Jr., Salinas, Ca./Notre Dame) is coming off a school-record 32 kills in her last match and leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in kills average (4.58) and points.

Von Moos (Sr., Stanwood, Wa.) is seventh in NCAA Division II assists, averaging 13.20. Both were named first team all-GNAC earlier in the week. Von Moos was also the conference player of the year.

Seattle Pacific will take an 18-match win streak into the NCAA Division II Pacific Regionals, which begin Thursday at San Bernardino, Calif. SPU meets Chico State in a first-round match.

The Falcons were the only team with two first-team selections, and this marks just the second time that two SPU players have made first team all-region in the same year.

Completing the first team were Michelle Peters of BYU Hawaii, Cal Poly Pomona's Antoinette Kathol, Jessica Granados of Cal State San Bernardino, Western Washington's Courtney Schneider and UC San Diego's Brianna Koche.
