SEATTLE (Nov. 6) ­ Jessica Pixler of Seattle Pacific University was named the runner of the week in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference for a third time after claiming the NCAA Division II West Region championship.

Pixler (Fr., Sammamish, Wa./Eastlake) won the regional title by 10 seconds, becoming the Falcons' first individual champion since Bente Moe in 1985 and helping SPU earn first national team berth since 1999.

Pixler and her teammates run at the NCAA Championships Nov. 18 in Pensacola, Fla.
